No plane, no problem

Who needs a plane, to go anywhere, when you can you to a nearby park.  Parks are a great way to get out of the house and go on an adventure without having to leave your town.  There are so many fun activities to do at any park, whether you are going with a friend, or going solo.

Go for a Hike
Going for a hike can be not only a way to get out and experience mother nature, by also a great way to get some exercise.  I’m sure your dog would love to tag along, or rather, the other way around!

Scavenger Hunt
For a fun summer day with the kids, a scavenger hunt would be and awesome outdoor activity to get them away from screens.  Have them find things like an acorn, a heart shaped rock, different kinds of leaves, and animal prints.

Picnic
Someone make sure to bring the lemonade, because this picnic is going to be epic.  Once you have hiked your way up a hill, and found the perfect spot for a picnic, make sure to invite some friends next time you go.  Having a  picnic with friends and family is a great way to talk to them without the distraction of everyday stress, chores, and technology.

Stargazing
For an evening activity, stargazing is a great experience.  Make sure to do this one on a clear night though, and do not forget to bring a blanket.  You can always imagine that you are looking at the same stars as someone at the place you want to travel to is.

Roadside stop
Most parks have green ranger signs.  These signs usually give information on the site, including about the flora and fauna of those parts.  You can learn so much about the place you live in just by driving a few miles away from your house.
